I am not that young, but I find that offending. I admit though that there are more young people among pirates because of the above reasons but it does not really mean ''young people will pirate''
I know plenty of 'Baby Boomers' who 'pirate' music and some who get their books this way.

Interestingly, what's standing in the way of a larger proportion of those who wouldn't fall under the term 'young' are two factors:

1) Those who haven't bought an ereader yet (pretty obvious, really).

2) You currently need to register with private trackers or learn how to use IRC in order to be fairly sure to be able to find any book you want on the 'net. Once you do this, the selection available is far better than most modern libraries. This is more trouble than most people (other than the already tech-savvy) can be bothered with.

I suspect we will see piracy gain a much greater proportion of books dissemination when sites start to pop up that are as easy to use as the Pirate Bay, but specifically for books (or sites such as TPB adopt a tick box for 'ebooks' as well as 'audio', 'video' etc.).

Seeing as we recently had the first big 'Kindle Christmas', at least as many of which were bought by none-young demographics, I don't imagine it will be long until we see this change.
