Hi crangirl,

I've found all sorts of issues trying to format a card in Win XP (what I'm using now). I downloaded a utility from the SanDisk website that was much better for me. It works fine on non-SanDisk products.

Some cards that I bought on eBay turned out to be not genuine SanDisks despite assurances tot he contrary in the posting, and these yielded every problem imaginable.

(I've found it quickest and easiest to do the formatting in Ubuntu though.)

Try the SanDisk utility and see how you go.

Cheers,
