The way I understand what he said, the job sucked. You get treated badly and your job is to annoy people. The only justification he pointed out was, that he had to live in the meantime, until he had a better job (which he got, so he is obviously qualified and a valuable addition to the society).
Honestly, do you know a person who will first see his family starve before working
anything that's legal?
