I will admit that the 3.7" screen on my Droid is crisper than the larger screens on my Sony and NC - and so I can read smaller text on it than I can on either of the other devices.

However, it's not enough smaller to make up for the fact that it's got about 1/3 the viewing area of my Sony, and just over 1/4 the viewing area of my Nook Color. It's not simply a matter of how much text can be crammed on the screen, but how much can be displayed at a comfortable viewing distance, which depends on your arms as well as your eyes.

Bigger screens are simply easier for me to read on. The larger devices aren't always easy or practical to carry, so I do read on the Droid sometimes, but if I'm at home sitting down to read something I'll use one of the others.
