I strongly believe that 'Open Books' (early days yet) will play a vital part in the general anti-DRM campaign so many here at MR strongly support.
DRM is a joke to the dishonest and a downright insult to the honest. In fact, it even encourages the honest to sometimes commit a petty crime because -- although illegal -- they feel that stripping DRM is morally justified.
Anyone who feels passionately about an author's right to freely express himself in words must also stand for the right of the reader to fairly share words that have made an impression.
And Kovid and Krittika Goyal have already established themselves in the ebook community as genuine and generous contributors to the very concept of ebook reading and have worked wonders in facilitating the experience for thousands around the world. I for one would be lost without my trusty Calibre Library software.
All power to their elbows. Neil
