Yeah, that doesn't look too shappy, though it is expensive, as you pointed out. Still 2 mm of silicone probably doesn't offer the best protection from drops from 1+ meters. Still much better than no extra protection at all, obviously.

I wonder why they don't make some with 4+ mm (silicone/gel). Yes, it would be a bit more bulky, but it wouldn't be a problem, for me at least. And it would probably offer very good protection, at least if it landed on a corner. In case of a faceplant the materiale would have to be exstremely soft since it lands on such a large sufface area. That would cancel out much of the absorption capability of the skin.

Maybe they could put some bubbles on the font and back of my 4+ mm fantasy skin. Hehe.
