It does not Carge the Battery in USB Drive Mode. (How the text says when you are in USB Drive mode.

Just to clarify, the behavior may be different depending on your operating system. On my Vista 32 laptop the only option that takes it out of USB Mode and keeps it charging is Eject from Explorer - ejecting from calibre does nothing and "safely remove hardware" doesn't work unless I eject it first.
