As the post after yours suggests, Calibre has been updated to create page numbers for other books. I have not tried it yet but it apparently supports two methods, one less accurate and the other more accurate. But it is, I believe based on estimates of page length vis-a-vis character counts. I have not followed the issue closely so don't know if it can acquire the "real" page number complementary files from Amazon.
