I think the only circumstance where one would have an issue is if a failed hack is the cause of the problem, and even then, I suspect Amazon still would simply send you another Kindle with no questions asked. Right now, I suspect the hacking community is so small compared to the total number of Kindles sold, that it isn't worth it to them to waste time inspecting returned Kindles for hacks.
Thanks again Hollow Man, my kindle has been behaving herself very nicely today, even though she hates those creepy screen savers!
