Yes, you can use it for that purpose.
You have to scan your book, either one page at a time, or two pages at once.
Then you copy all your jpeg files in the "images" directory and launch the program. You answer the questions, and voilą !
Your pictures will be auto cut, cropped, resampled... to make the best ebook (LRF or EPUB) possible.
Just try it and tell me how you find it !
