Tragic. The destruction and loss of life is horrendous.

But I'll betcha summat ... our New Zealand pals will show the same true grit in the face of disaster as our friends in Australia so recently did. These are modern countries, but their people are still close to their courageous and pioneering roots.

Kindest thoughts and warmest admiration go out to those we still have the bare-faced cheek to so inaccurately refer to as 'Down Under'. Only last week I turned the world map on my wall upside down. It looks better that way and it reminds me of just where some friends really stand on this wee blue ball of a planet.
