No more DX for me!

Hi, I wanted to share my experience with others so that maybe it might help you, when choosing the right kindle.

My first kindle was the US DX and after that the Kindle DX graphite with international 3G. I always had the thought that the DX was better: hey its almost $400 dollars so it must be better. I also thought there"s no way I would go for the smaller kindle, a bigger screen is always better, especially for newspapers and PDFs.

Well, it turned out that I never used pdfs and the layout of newspapers on the kindle(with a single), it didn't quite make use of the extra real estate of the DX.

So, after sending my DX back due to a faulty 3G chip I decided to go for the Kindle 3g+ wifi....and I'm very happy I did. It's much much smaller, making me realize how heavy the DX was. I always had to use with 2 hand, now I can finally hold the kindle with one hand and not get tired. That makes all the difference for me. When I first saw the device and how tiny it was, I was a bit afraid that I made the wrong choice: the screen is going to be too small and unreadable. I was wrong. it's actually perfect and mobile, although you will be able less text, when compared to the DX. Another plus is that its faster too.

The second biggest change for me is the wifi, things get done alot easier. 3G is nice, but how many times are you going to be buying book on the go? You can probably buy something before going somwhere. The 3G to me is more for non-reading tasks like tweeting text or check mail.

So after only using the DX, I now prfer the smaller and luckily cheaper Kindle. Did you switch from the dx to the smaller kindle or the other way around?
