I lit up the tip of my late cat Bugsy's nose. Then I lit up other things.

It didn't take him long to figure out that I was responsible for it, and start bugging me to go out in the hallway with him and make the red dot he then could chase frantically. Bugsy was older and ordinarily very dignified, but in the presence of red dot, all inhibitions vanished.

I just assumed he viewed it as keeping in training and keeping his reflexes sharp for his primary profession as an exterminator.
