With Nook Color just recently launched, it makes more sense to push the Nook Color and firmware upgrades for it that promoting the Nook 3G. Nook wifi is less expensive and you can get really good deals now. Also, Nook has no International support like Amazon Kindle (in case you are planning to travel with it) so unless you truly need 3G on the go or have no wifi at home, I would save those extra bucks and buy or keep the wifi version only. 3G on a tablet or iPad makes more sense to me: a more rich multimedia and color experience. But besides downloading online books, there is no additional value of having 3G on an eink device (Kindle could be the exception, because the International Support). That's my opinion.
