I was too, up until page 40-something. It's not even that there's way too much church-related stuff, but half of the characters' action make cringe and wonder out loud "why would he/sho do/say that? Are back in 5th grade?"

I either need to stop reading this genre or stop being so picky
From all the authors you've recommended to me, which would you say have the most damaged characters? In a sense like Karen Rose's Kristen and Catherine.
