just read a sample of spiral x, and i liked it a lot. i'm sick of cutesy female main characters in urban fantasy or constant sex or romance. your book and your character have balls, metaphorically speaking.

after you have another novel or two out continuing from spiral x (hopefully you'll continue the series), it might be worth giving away the short story to get people hooked. i often buy entire series after a good lead in - in just the last month i read a free short story on my kindle, and ended up buying the author's entire catalog including a pre-ordered novel. also got a free first novel in a series that i'll be buying all the sequels for in the next month.

anyway, just bought smash x - i'm looking forward to reading the rest.
