Congratulations mate. I hope you'll continue to be fond of it.

Amazon's official statement is about a month's worth of time with wifi off and about a week with wifi on, I think.

There are a great many accessories for the Kindle. I suggest you take a tour at Amazon and read some reviews of the products that interest you there. There are also the very useful 'all-abouts' stickies on this section of the forum.

Speaking of covers; I personally cannot recommend the official cover because I just think that it's very expensive compared to what else you can buy at a much lower price. I do have one myself and overall it's a good cover, though I did remove the flap on it cause it gets in the way when the cover is flipped backward; it simply blocks the strip from entering the natural groove in the cover, and if you have the strip on the backside it might irritate your fingers cause it's round and therefore a bit thick. A much better solution would have been a flat strip and this is also what most of the other covers of this kind uses. The flip is indeed useful for people with weaken finger strength. The lighted version is probably one of the most practical covers out there, though. I have a Mighty Bright2 book light, and it's much more adjustable, but it's still much less practical. This is mostly because you'll have two parts instead of one. The mounting system is okay, but I do miss a strip on the opposite side just to hold it in place. This is just my feelings toward this particular cover, but still something to think about.

Other than that you should ask yourself some questions like:

Do I went it to be simplistic and lightweight, or one with pockets and a stand built-in, etc.

Which feel to the touch do I like ? leather, soft fabric, etc.

How much do I want to spend on a cover ?

Also, another thing to consider is:

Do you want to be able to apply a sticker that I can see ? In that case don't get a cover with a full body case.

Cheers, mate
