I had the same problem. So I finally removed the non-working ticker, went back to ticker factory and made a new ticker (so as to get to the last page of the creation/editing process) and then before I added the page to iGoogle, I copied the url from the HTML block (only the part from http to but not including the first > symbol) onto a new browser tab, opened the edit page on the new tab, and bookmarked it. Then I went back to the ticker factory page and added it to iGoogle. Whenever I want to edit it, I use the bookmark to open the editing page, make my changes, and close it out. It updates on iGoogle, and it's not too much more effort than clicking on the ticker itself.
