That is the "Reset to Factory Defaults" option! I'm not saying that it might not be eventually necessary, but that should always be the last option you try. If you've only had your Kindle a little while, then it's certainly no big deal, but those who have had theirs for quite a while may be dismayed to find all of their books gone... not to mention all of their customizations and hacks.

Yeah, I wasn't paying attention I thought he said 'Restart', not 'Reset to Factory Defaults'! I am very reluctant to do this and as you say this may be a last resort, but I'm still baffled why I can't open a calibre newsfeed, that's got nothing to do with DRM, all of my books etc are locked down, even those that have never been anywhere near DRM, it's beginning to look like a factory reset may be the only viable option left to me, after a careful back-up I might add. So far I've backed up from the kindle the documents folder, collections.json & reader.pref
