Read the other threads on battery usage but basically your Sony tech doesn't know what he is talking about... I get thousands of page turns on my 600, the electronics takes care of potential overcharge automatically (it DOESN'T happen), the red light goes out at 80% charge anyway and LI Polymer batteries are ACTIVELY DAMAGED by full cycling...
