The most common cause for bricking is pressing U on the recovery menu. (Sort of your fault for clicking it without reading what it does..)

The second most common cause is running a bad command on USBNetwork. This could pretty much do anything.

As the others have said, Screensavers and Jailbreak are relatively harmless. Even Amazon acknowledges that people load custom screensavers (but avoid mentioning custom fonts, etc).

P.S. Just realized I was late to the party. Oh well :/ Congratulatons.
