The screen is the only really fragile part and I would think that's going to be equally as fragile on any reader.

If I was going to buy 25 of anything I would consider customer service a big issue, and you can't do better than Amazon.

The Kindle 3 meets all your requirements, has the best price, and a huge selection of 3rd party covers to choose from. It's also very user friendly.
