Yes, the B&N updates may break root on your device, depending on which root version you're using*. However, there are ways around that, as explained in several other threads on this forum, or over at the xda-developers Nookcolor sub-forum.


* (Some versions of rooted software run from the external SD card, which is not affected by B&N updates)
