Yeah I always figure how many screens there are to an ebook when I begin reading it for the first time. Basically just divide the locations/page into the total locations in the book. Obviously it might be thrown off some if there are many graphics, but not all that tough.
I never found locations to be even remotely useful while reading. Currently I use the percentage figure to see how much of the book I have left. And most of the time while actually reading I don't pay any attention to any of the numbers. I just read!
I really think giving us a screen count is the most meaningful figure in a digital reading environment.
