My buttons are a hard plastic, and I've gotten the impression from what I've read that the "clay" buttons are rubbery.
The lack of page turn is really infrequent. So much so that I keep thinking maybe I haven't pushed the button. I cannot replicate it, at all, so maybe I'm insane.
I have small fingers and also have used things like Blackberry keyboards, so using the d-pad isn't a big problem, but I do feel the design of it could've been better.
It has 3.0.2. I've had the wi-fi/3g on for a bit and the update hasn't automatically come down, like it apparently has for some. About the only thing I'd jailbreak it for is putting my own screensavers on, but it isn't the biggest deal, so I'll probably download and run the 3.1 update. I'll survive without seeing the location on every page.
