I never said that.
I purchased a BMW two years ago, and for the first year I was a fan boy, and a BMW fan, until it came time for BMW to fix something which warranty should have covered. They found a tiny loophole and didn't want to pay for it. I called BMW North America who deferred me to the local dealer.
I then realized that to BMW I was a means to an end, making money.
I think my brand loyalty came as a result of me wanting to feel justified or feel good about buying the car. Brand loyalty to me (now) makes no sense. If some Chinese company comes up with a better e-reader than Kindle, I'll buy it.
