I think you're right about the 505 battery comparison, having had both myself. I can live with it for the awesome touchscreen on the 650.
As long as I can go at least three days between charges with several thousand page turns (typical business travel or vacation need for me) then I'm happy. Most times I lose one "bar" on the battery indicator and recharge every 2-3 days of use.
