Where do you get this ridiculous 15%? It's a bit more then 15% in the US. Plus, take into account the rest of the world and it's more then 50%.

Yes, Sony wanted to use Mobipocket but were turned down. So they went to Adobe for ADE/ePub. That was the start of ePub's becoming the defacto worldwide standard.
