I can for one fully appreciate the anxiety regarding most/all medical things. While I understand
why there's the separation between the GP, nurses, testing-centres and such it's really,
really unnerving waiting for your results to move through the whole assembly-line system, always worrying they'll lose your results or mix them up with someone else.
One thing that bothers me a lot more is that almost no GPs these days will go out on any sort of a speculation limb and give "their opinion" on what is happening, instead it's just as if they've been unfortunately demoted to being mere voices for the results of your tests. There's just no level of human comfort or reassurance in the system anymore (or so it feels).
(I know it has mostly gone this way due to the plethora of lawsuits and legal liabilities)
