i was thinking more of the case where you fix a few typos, mess with formatting, maybe delete some unwanted dedication & acknowledgement pages & appendices, then send the book back to kindle with the same metadata as before. not sure what that does to existing K.s search book word indexing, as the indexes live in hidden system files & I have not looked too closely.
