Thus the DXG is second generation hardware, and is limited to second-generation firmware -- which means 2.5, same as the Kindle 2.
You knew when you bought it that it had second generation firmware, and thus hardware, and even a remote modicum of thought could have told you that there was never going to be an upgrade to 3.x in the future.

And exactly how would I have known that?
I started off with the K3, liked it, and saw that there was a larger model.
A larger model sounded inviting, and on Amazon's Kindle page, they compare all 3 models. NO mention is made in the comparison table that the software in the DXG is a generation behind.
So I bought it, and found that it didn't do some things as well as my K3 had done.
Now, a couple of months later, I've sold the DXG and gone back to a K3.
I agree that this isn't big enough for a watchdog to go after, yet I'm stunned at some of the positions taken by folks here.
Amazon's advertising of the DXG *IS* deceptive, and it's amazing to see the lengths some people will go to in order to contend that Amazon can do no wrong.
