Text to Speech

I use the text to speech a lot. I read using it and I also teach others to read using text to speech on computers. My students all have reading problems. They do well with the technology. The Kindle text to speech is pretty good. The voices are adequate and the speeds are OK.

My biggest complaint is that I would like the speeds to go a lot faster. The fastest now is only about 225 words per minute. Most readers read between 250 and 350 words per minute. Computer screen readers go to over 600 words per minute.

Anyone have an idea how to speed up the speech?

I would be interested in other people experiences with the Kindle text to speech.
