The kindle is a nice piece of hardware, but I really wish it could get ePub support. To me stripping the DRM isn't the big deal its converting the books. I've had a few end up with formatting issues and I'm not savvy enough to figure out how to fix missing TOC or text and images that get formatted incorrectly. Its far easier to me to just keep everything in ePub and even if I strip the DRM I don't have to mess with the formatting.

I would honestly try and find any other option whether it be Kobo, Jetbook or whatever before getting a kindle, but if the kindle is all you can get shipped it is better than nothing.
