Nah. My new laptop has 3 times the RAM and twice the CPU cores (faster, too) and it's still slower than my 5 year old laptop, Pentium-M 1.7G with 1GB RAM.

Windows don't open as fast. I can't run as many programs at one time. I have to force restart about once a week because it gets abysmally slow. And then there are the periodic pauses as the laptop tries to catch up to itself. I've seen apps freeze that could run quite nicely on a 200MHz CPU. W. T. F. ?
