What kind of roaster have you tried? We have a home roaster, but if you were going to grind and re-roast, you'd probably have to use a stovetop popcorn popper...and even then, you might have problems with the paddle stirring properly.
I don't drink coffee, but my husband orders green beans from a bunch of regions and roasts his own. Oaxacla coffee from a region in Southern Mexico is VERY nice. Smooth and mellow, much like Kona coffee, which is also pretty decent.
He likes the deeper coffees and he makes his own espresso mix from a bunch of them. The only time I really drink it is if I'm making tiramisu and need a shot to brush on the cakes...
