What a nice sequence. Exactly what I need to keep in the mood of Room with a view that some of us are reading for the book club this month.

And what a nice occasion to make a fool of myself. I used to be a joker before becoming a question mark.

Then.
@willijt. Yes, there are layers of protocols. If you feel that you appear that you are violating one and you regret it, than it is your pleasure to do so, and we should do nothing to refrain you. On the contrary ...

Why not take Stitchawl reply at the letter? At least a bit. Not all of us are British subjects or under the influence of their mannerisms, like many inhabitants of the exColonies including USoA. For many of us things mean what they appear.
So "Have a nice day" means exactly that and not " Do not show up until the sun sets". Or " I am sorry" that means "I stepped on your toe on purpose". And "Nice talking to you" should be read as "Next time shut up". BTW I prefer nice talking with you.

My impression is that Stitchawl, in few words as is the tradition of the country where he resides, is giving you both an absolution from any actual or imagined sin and at the same time the occasion of unloading your heart on the very friendly posters of this wonderful thread. It comes from a concept that one finds in Japanes design. It might be referred to as beauty through using, so that a dish is fully wonderful if it is shown with some food in it. Do give us reasons please, if it pleases you.

KK's reply appears as an ontological demonstration of sort of the existence of protocols, and of the refusal of them, if only of the nose offenders or of all them is not clear. I am also pretty sure that she is not referring to any particular body odor of any of us. Or to the procedures for having digital devices to communicate across the net. Although I know that KK is proud of some of *her* protocols. She shared with us one about drinking from a boot after a long march. Again things should not be taken literary, at least when it is not the case, and they should be taken literary when the case is. Or not?
