Starbucks "used" to be good.. but the quality depends on the barista.. and usually it isn't a seasoned one.. so your coffee isn't foolproof it does require technique.. especially for espresso.
At home.. french press, is the best taste--- when you have time it isn't as hot as other ways of making coffee..
I have tried the vietnamese drip, aeropress (like a big plunger with a filter), stovetop moka, regular drip..
Hot water and a nice roast (fresher beans the better!) Coffee beans can spoil as the oils become rancid over time..
"Weasel coffee" or Vietnamese Kopi Luwak -- is rich and no pun intended a chocolate aftertaste lol

but a bit pricey.
A nice double french roast is pretty good for me.
With a heavy ratio of water to coffee and added with whole milk...
I try to avoid sugar.. as it well doesn't help the healthy living department.
;-)
YMMV
As for Instant, Sanka, Nescafe or the "new" name of Starbucks Via coffee... lol hot brown water doesn't mean it is coffee!
