I think it was only the mobile Gmail pages that had the issue and it wasn't all of them. I'm not 100% clear as the bug never affected me.

If you managed to upgrade from 3.0.2 then it can't have been 3.0.2 (553210206) as the 3.0.3 firmware update checks for a number between 515460094 and 536720111 for it to apply. The 3.0.3 update files never changed since they were originally released either.

If it is 3.0.2 (553210206) then it will just refuse to apply the 3.0.3 update and it will delete the file from the Kindle drive. It does the same thing if the file is for a different model as well. Thats all it will do so its safe.
