What are you talking about? Doukan doesn't require any personal information to use.
Look, no one thinks anyone's being unreasonable for
WANTING updates for the DXG. It's a reasonable want. I hope you get them someday. And this has nothing to with fanboyism for a particular model -- I have a K2, duh.
But the idea that you are OWED (or that you were promised) feature updates simply because you spent more money than other people is wrong. So is the idea that you've been mislead or ripped off by Amazon. You haven't. That "entitlement" mentality is what people are taking issue with.
