Somehow I have a hard time picturing a court saying it's ok for you to strip drm from books belonging to the library, allowing you to use it without the normal limitation that normally comes with library books, because you pay taxes.
This reminds me of people ranting about getting a speeding tickets because they're hard working, tax paying citizens. Well, good for you, but you still can't speed.
