The ePub and mobi formats will cover 99% of ereaders. PDF, generally speaking, is not considered a good format for ereading devices. Smashwords will give you all the formats you need, but their 'meatgrinder' conversion is hit or miss. They sometimes screw up formatting. Word documents are certainly not the way to go.
