Oh, incidentally, we grew up, and travelled many, long thousands of kilometres (as a RAAF family) in the back of a Holden Kingswood (1970 HT), from which the early Monaro was cropped (in the same way the later was cropped from the Commodore). It features huge in my memory, because we spent so much time travelling a thousand kilometres or so on holidays to relatives, driving long distances to the beach (we were also a beach family) or just moving a 1000 or more kilometers to a new RAAF base. I still call some songs (think E.L.O, Meatloaf, etc.) "Avalon songs", because they're songs I remember playing on the long, hot, summer trips to and from Avalon Beach, me and my two brothers in the back, and mum & dad and my sister in the front.

Cheers,
Marc
