Amazon have added support for something called a sponsored hotspot which is related to AT&T hotspots. I assume its something like you get access for free (or discounted?) if you're using an AT&T hotspot with your Kindle.

3.1 also breaks the jailbreak. It used to look for any public key which meant it would use the one added by the jailbreak. They've now altered it so that it specifically only checks the two Amazon Kindle public keys. This means all hacks will NOT be able to be installed.
Code:
-KEYFILES=$(ls /etc/uks/*pem)
+KEYFILES="/etc/uks/pubprodkey01.pem /etc/uks/pubprodkey02.pem "
If you've got USB networking already installed for your Kindle then it will still be install after you've updated to 3.1. The /test/bin link is gone so the ~usbNetwork test command won't work but you can enable it by using the auto file in /usbnet/ on the Kindle drive. Once you've enabled it, the only way to disable it is to do it from the command line so don't do this if you don't know what you're doing!

Having USB network access means you can alter the 3.1 filesystem and install/uninstall anything you wish along with reenabling the extra key in the otaup script. Again, don't do this if you don't know what you're doing!

If you apply 3.1 to your existing hacked/jailbroken Kindle then it will disable the jailbreak. This means installing and uninstalling hacks will NOT work when using 3.1. Just a warning...
