Square Trade is a really good company. I have had one claim thru them for a phone and it was processed quickly. Also, if you cancel an insurance policy, you get your money (pro-rated) back. I found this out when I switched from my iPhone 3 to iPhone 4.
The one bad thing (if you think this is a bad thing), is that if you have a claim (such as a broken screen) you have to send the phone in for repairs. My college-age son almost had a panic attack at the thought of his phone being gone for at least 4-5 days LOL. Luckily for him, the Apple store was willing to replace his phone since he had never turned one in before.
So, I would recommend you consider the price difference and see if it is worth it to possibly not have the phone for a few days.
