I got a lighted cover "gratis" from Amazon and now i can't imagine using any reader without light ever again. As Mozaika wrote there is hardly any weight or volume difference between the two, but the convenience of having a light at any time ... i love it and it seems that i use light 60% of the time. Of course it's winter now, in summer it might be less.
