regarding the continuous reboot - are you attempting to install the firmware using the instructions on the PB website?
They are wrong. The buttons to press are the large left and right buttons, whilst turning it on. There is a "sweet spot" for holding these buttons down, and if you release them too early, or hold them too long, the firmware will not install.
