I have a non lighted cover and have had problems. I am going with the static charge build up theory since I always had a freeze when putting my Kindle in my winter jacket pocket. As suggested in other threads I sanded the paint off the hooks and have had no problems. Since the Kindle is now connected electrically to the case, no static discharge into the Kindle. I am against putting anything on the hooks for fear of damaging the contacts in the Kindle, just in case I get a lighted case. I am curious if those who have reported no problems live in more humid climates.
