Thanks guys. I've been meaning to get back to this thread for some time now. MS Word works perfect and now that i actually have a Kindle, all i have to do is send my formatted Word Doc to my Free Kindle email address and it converts my doc perfectly well. The TOC works perfectly.
I don't think i've tried Calibre. But i must tell you in MobiPocket I WAS COMPLETELY LOST! I'm glad that i can send my docs to amazon and get it over with. I do need to find some software for my friends who don't have a Kindle. They have many doc they want to put into an ebook format.
PDF Converter is fantastic. The only problem i have is that at the end of each page it places a return character. That character is a pain to remove if it is not at the end of a sentence or true paragraph. I wonder if there is some software that can identify these misplacements. If you have a book of 100+ pages you don't want to have to go to the end of each page removing return chacters.
The other problem with PDF covnerter is that it sometimes places your text in the header. This doesn't happen often but it does happen. I'm going to find out if these can be avoided.
For normal headers, i found it easy once i made sure there was no normal text mistakenly placed in the header, to open my doc in WordPad adn save it. Then open it back up in Word. WordPad removes ALL THE HEADER INFO!!! So you don't have to remove it mannually.
If i can find a way to get rid of the paragraph marks converting from PDF to Word then to AZW for the Kindle would be perfect. Of course i don't need to convert to Word unless there is a problem converting directly from PDF to AZW with Kindle's email converter.
Thanks!
