Thumbs up Calibre in the cloud

Thanks for all the warm welcoming posts.

I ended up by setting up vnc service and running Calibre that way.

The documentation of the server options lacks some very important information about which command line options are required. Calibre is not very smart about dealing with missing mandatory arguments and prints out a very low level Python error about byte conversion rather than something more meaningful about missing arguments. That took me a while to get over.

I am running on Rackspace and used their stock Fedora image to build the server. Except for the Calibre documentation, it went pretty smoothly.

I have just uploaded 1 PDF and converted it to epub format and I can see that it is available and I can read it on the Calibre reader on my Vista portable.

Looks good.
