Well, I ended up getting a Mighty Bright UltraThin and I'm pretty happy with it.
1) It's very slim and light weight which I like - about the size of an ultra-small flip phone, but much lighter.
2) Just the right amount of light from one LED bulb (a very small "hot spot" but nothing that really bothers me).

Now, if you like your light way up above the reader you won't like this one - it's about 5" off the face and has some adjustability of angle but not really height distance. Also, if you don't use a case you wouldn't be able to use it (though it can be freestanding) as it has a metal clip which will only accommodate something thinnish. I got the light for $12 and 25 button batteries for $5 (it uses 2 which it comes with, but I don't know how much use you get out of them yet) all off Amazon shipped free w/Prime.
